Sorry--make that scanING!

I have a document that I want to scan in to Word so I can e-mail it today. Haven't the slightest idea how to do that. Tried scanning already but it scanned in to picture files.

Is there a simple answer to this question?

To scan it into a word processor, you would need some OCR software (Optical Character Recognition).
You COULD just insert it as a graphic into a word document, but that's not something that can be edited, obvoiusly.
Another choice would be to convert it into a .pdf file, an option built in to a Mac, and available in some applications on a pc.
CutePDF Writer is freeware, installs like any printer, just choose it when you print, and it creates a .pdf.
It's a great app, and it's free.

Again, it can't be edited, but most computers will be able to open it and see it exactly as you do.

Just fax the image. (Print the image to the FAX printer.)
If you don't see FAX under your printer list, you need to go to AddPrinters first, and add it.
