Several people have offered in the past to help me set up a network. Well, now I'm finally ready to do this. I'd like to do it when the rest of my family is away. Much easier without two 10 year olds asking a lot of questions, not to mention an additonal three adults. You'll be getting enough questions from me!!!

I'm looking to network a wireless laptop connection, as well as two desk computers. One on the first floor, the other on the second. I'd like the second floor computer and laptop to have the ability to share a printer and scanner. The first floor computer will have it's own printer and I think scanner.

With the first floor computer I'd like it to be set up for 6 different users, with each personalized for each user. For example, my sister uses the program 'Quickbook,' but there is no reason for my nephews to have access to it.

I have a router and my laptop has a wireless card; but what else would I need?. How involved is this and how much would it cost me? I'd like someone to do this between Tuesday 22 Novemeber and Wednesday 29 November. Hopefully I explained what I'm looking for well enough. Thanks!

Auntie, call me tomorrow. I can help, but I need to ask a bunch of questions. I'll email you my phone number, which will be a test of whether I know your email address.

Hopefully, your router and Wics support MIMO. The initial cost is slightly higher but a much faster speed, greater distance and reduced obsolescence would be the end result. I just installed one in my house and I can surf with my laptop from my neighbor’s yard close to 250 feet away! I used the Belkin product purchased at Costco.
