Any of you guys had this problem? Just tried 2 different copies of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Both times, my dvd player tried to load and reload. Ended up with the word Menu on the screen, but disc would not play. On both occasions, other NetFlix dvds played.

Do you think this is somehow related to antipiracy stuff, and the last guy copied it??

I don't think its antipiracy, no. If someone did rip the DVD, 'your' copy would be unaffected.

I'm assuming that you have tried other DVDs in the player and they worked - do you have a DVD player on your PC?

The only issue I've ever had with Netflix not working was a damaged disc - there was a tiny (very tiny) hairline crack in the center that extended outwards into the media, and that was pretty much the end of THAT disc.

Try washing it with soap, water and your fingers. Then dry with a very soft cloth from the inside out. If it still doesn't work, return it for an exchange.

Yes, it's happened to me once or twice. They even have a way for you to report an unplayable DVD, automatically, without human intervention, which you should do, so they stop distributing it. Their robot sends you an apology. Isn't that precious?

Yep, and did that(reported it). In the end, I bought the DVD inquestion. Interestingly, the first 2 times it too would not load. And then it did.
