I'm trying to use the "autofit" feature on a spreadsheet. The goal is that the cell where I enter verbiage will automatically expand so that all verbiage entered will display on the screen as well as on a printout. I've followed the Excel procedure Select Row-->Format-->Row-->Autofit No luck. So, I'm thinking there's something wrong with my version of Excel I'm using 2003 SP 2 Professional Edition. Any suggestions on troubleshooting this, or is this just one of those features that doesn't really work? Thanks |

It should work. You can also try moving the pointer after the row designator on the left and double click on it. For example, if you want to autofit row 5, place the mouse between rows 5 and 6 in the gray area to the left that has the row numbers in it. The pointer should change to a line with two arrows coming from it. Double click when it's like that and it should auto-size the row. What is the contents of the cell/row? Are there line breaks in it? Is any cell in the row set to Wrap text? Is text not visible, or is the row/cell taller than you expect? If it's not confidential stuff, you can email it to me and I'll be glad to take a look at it. joe.rastro@gmail.com |

Still not working on my machine here at work, and I'm pretty sure I got it to work on my machine at home. So, I'll give it a go at home and see if I have any success. Thanks for the offer to play around with the file. If I have no luck on my own I'll send off something generic to you.

If I understand what you're saying, I think you want to "format" "cells" and check the "wrap text" button. |
