clips shown to t.v. critics from the sixth season of the sopranos:

• The action will be triggered by the racketeering trial of Tony Soprano's rival don John Sack, who was arrested in the final episode of 2004. His potential conviction will touch off a wave of jealousy and ambition among mobsters.

• Tony's gang considers getting involved in a movie; actor Ben Kingsley will guest-star as himself in at least one episode.

• Other guest stars include Hal Holbrook as a scientist gone bad, singer Frankie Valli as a mobster, and Lorraine Bracco's sister Elizabeth as a gangster's wife.

• Clips from the show make it appear that Carmela will hire her own husband to kill one of her enemies this season. And in one snippet, Tony was seen kissing an unidentified woman.

• The opening line from Shakespeare's Richard III, ''Now is the winter of our discontent,'' was featured in one clip, which seemed to bode ill for Tony Soprano (Shakespeare's play ends with the death of the title character).

Dear Henry,

Hey. How is it going? I heard you have gotten over things not going quite as you planned. Good to hear that. Things are never easy, I suppose you know about that. You might of heard that Radar got married. Other than that, things are mostly the same. Sure wish you were around. Today I tried to salute someone and I got my hand caught on a fish hook - but I'm sure you know about that too.

Take care,
- Buzz

I missed the Grammys(tm) last night. Would have loved to have seen Sly Stone. For the most part, the Grammys(tm) and the pop music scene in general remind me of the singing pepsi can from the Superbowl XL commercials.

I would like to take this moment to reflect on what Bob Dylan said when he was given some lifetime award from the Grammy people:

"My daddy, he didn't leave me much, you know he was a very simple man, but what he did tell me was this, son, you know it's possible to become so defiled in this world that your own father and mother will abandon you and if that happens, God will always believe in your ability to mend your ways."

You should watch this. Bob looks a little nuts, but....when in Rome.

McCheese, this is what it looked like at 5.10am this morning. The yellow dot is the street light across the street. If you look closely you can see the ghost of the blizzard of '77. By the way, have you ever heard the song 'blizzard of 77' - man it's good.

note to self:

when wishing for snow, remember that walking through ice mazes of blackish narrow mush it not as fun as it sounds.

I did love the blizzard of '06
see you again in '07

This is neat. First time visitor, here. Buzz, did you make that amazing drawing/painting on the word association thread? I don't recognize it, and I want to know who did it, so I can duly worship.

Like your photos very much.

Want to get my students the modern art appreciation breath spray--it might help.

Dave: it's from a place called good burger

Shanabana: I must admit I have no idea who painted that awesome rabbit. A friend sent it to me, and I just posted it. I will see about finding the artist. What do you teach? The modern art breath spray has helped me in a few situations.

friends, I have many stories and pictures for you.
But, I need a favor. I need to be able to land in Newark tomorrow at 4pm. I really really really need to.

Paul Simon will take it home. I love these words so much I could eat them. Raw.

God only knows, God makes his plan
The information’s unavailable to the mortal man
We’re workin’ our jobs, collect our pay
Believe we’re gliding down the highway,
when in fact we’re slip sliding away
\

I can't tell you how much I miss home. Work travel sucks. Even if I am now in one of the most amazing places on this Earth.

I could see you having a lot of fun stuck in an airport. Just remember to cunduct yourself civily at all times. Otherwise the bar will cut you off. I couldn't see you having a good time stuck in an airport if you couldn't get a drink to calm the nerves.
