I am going to work backwards from this picture. I was so happy to see this. Newark never looked so good. We landed in the snow, but I had to wait to get local transport back to the mothership. |

So. I was out in Aspen for a huge job the past few days. Good God is Colorado beautiful. We had a few things to do on top of Mt. Aspen. On the way up to the top I commented to one of the models that I hadn't been this high since college. It was a good joke. Then. As I got closer to the top. I got dizzy. Heart was pounding like the fist of God. Couldn't catch my breath. Apparently there is something called altitude sickness.

its why marathoners train in CO. Aint it spectacular??? One of the best 'trips' I ever took was in the flat irons outside of Boulder. Complete with the fist of God, and the mist of God and the overwhelming sense of insignificance, beautiful simple and strong. I will let Amy Ray take it home, cause I love these words so much I could eat them, raw! I'm coming home with a stone, strapped onto my back I'm coming home with a burning hope turning all my blues to black. I'm looking for a sacred hand to carve into this stone. A ghost of comfort, Angel's Breath - to keep this life inside my chest. This world falls on me with hopes of immortality Everywhere I turn all the beauty just keeps shaking me. written, if i remember correctly, after a trip to colorado. here is her rather incoherent take on it..."this one's kind of about, it's about wanting to live forever because like when you go out the beach or you're in the mountains or something and everything is so beautiful and you get pissed because you have to die." Welcome home! |

Home. I love this place. Sure, I'm not on top of a huge mountain, seeing things for the first time. But still. I know where the soup is here and I like my pillow. I now know that I can direct about 10 people while unable to breathe properly. Something for the resume. Duncan. I can't imagine running a marathon in Co. I was barely able to walk 10 feet with out panting like a hot 200 pound dog. Everyone I was with was listening to bluegrass. Nice music. Perfect for the morning tea/coffee. I'd also like to give a shout out to the dudes at the T lazy 7 ranch out there. Nice guys. You can cook your own steak but you can't make a cow. |

This picture does not do what I saw justice. Your eye can just go forever up there and they just don't have mountains like this in NJ. Though I am still looking for that waterfall up in the reservation. |

These are making me homesick! I lived in Colorado from '88-93 and the only thing I didn't like was the lack of beaches. Glad you made it home safely, Buzz. |

I need to use MOL as my virtual therapist. I find that MOL is best when I need someone to talk to but really don't want to tell anybody what's on my mind. I woke up this morning thinking of a story that my Grandmother told me once that always stuck w/ me and made my heart a bit heavy. She told me that after my Granddad died, she used to put on the old records and dance by herself to cheer up. Tie a yellow ribbon, and charlie rich's 'have you happen to see the most beautiful girl in the world' were favorites on my grandparents turn table. We used to dance all the time at their place growing up. Never alone though. So. This was on my mind as I was laying in bed this morning and was thinking that, hey - maybe it wasn't that sad. I do it all the time when I have a moment alone and some rocking tune comes on. I pray no one is looking, but it feels good. This morning I got a call that my Grandmother, whom I love more than I can really explain, is, to put it in Jersey terms - on her way out. She is totally out of it and in a hospital. I was told she was talking to my Great Grandmother and my Grandfather who have not been here for many many years - Then just fell asleep and would not wake up and is now in a hospital. That's all I know. My family is tight on information in times like these. I suppose I am waiting to see if I should go and say good bye. Or if I should sit tight and keep my memories close. Last time I talked to her I asked her how she was feeling. She said "with my hands". Maybe she is tired of being alone and needs my Grandfather to dance with her. That said - I am going to play air guitar

Well thanks for asking las. She's still here. In the hospital. Hoping to visit her next weekend. She'd tell you not to worry and to have fun with the young people because it's no fun getting old and old people complain. Reminds me of a funny story. She lived in one of those senior communities in south jersey. They had stop signs the size of billboards. This woman is driving home from the little club house they have there running every stop sign. A cop decides to pull her over and ticket her. He says to her, "you ran three stop signs - did you know that?" She says, "oh, you don't have to stop for them if you live here."

"oh, you don't have to stop for them if you live here." Buzz - she sounds like a pip! Like Lucy says, cherish the memorys - sounds like you have quite a few. By the way, she's not necessarily "out of it" - I've heard of many people who talk to dear ones who have passed - they show up to give a comfort zone to those who have one foot in this world and one foot in the next. Sending prayers for peace of heart to you. |

Thanks for all the kind thoughts my friends. Grandma's still here but down and out in some strange hospital near exit 2 on the Turnpike. Who lives there? I am going to try and visit on Saturday. That won't be fun. Anyway. No need to be all serious here. This is a place for the silly. Like this picture:
I was bad today. Skipped the oatmeal and green tea. Had a sausage and cheese sandwich w/ a 7up. Needed some of that good stuff. |

I was at the beacon theater last night to see Donald Fagen. I love that theater, to me it is a very NYC venue. It is also about a block away from one of those cheap and delicious hot dog places. Through a series of lies I was able to get in the photo pit for a few numbers but didn't take any pictures until I was in the back of the theater for some reason. The Nightfly is an all time favorite album of mine. Las, Grandma's status still seems to be quo. A quick shout out to the scotch moths over at steak and chops. I am glad to know that place never ever changes.

VIG: Hey! Still some mystery, trying to think if we ever met in the real world. Shaun, is that Mr VIG? Word up to Shaun. Monster: Yo Dude. Mrs Buzz has this to say "I let Buzz go to Bunnies. I just don't want him coming home in a wheel barrow. When do I get to go out?" So. Next time ya'll go out, I am sending Mrs. Buzz out as my sub. I LOVE THIS PICTURE >

On my walk downtown to my office a woman started walking next to me and asked me where ground zero was. "where is ground zero?" "Keep walking straight and you will see it, about another ten minutes. I am not sure where the viewing platform is." "Oh, I'll find it. My son is there" "Is he working on the reconstruction?" "no he died there" "I am so sorry to hear that" "I know you are. That is all you can do. They are breaking ground today on the memorial" "Yes, I read about that." "I am going on a hunger strike today to protest it being under ground. Why would they want to hide this under ground. People need to remember" "Well you seem very strong, I wish you strength in what you are doing. I work here, so - just keep going down this street, you will find what you're looking for" "Were you effected by that day" "Not like you, no. My Father worked for the Port Authority at the time - and people I knew through him didn't make it. My Dad made it, his is fine" "That makes me so happy. I am so happy you have your Father." Then she gave me a big hug and kept on walking south. I had to sit in the lobby for a second and sink that conversation in. It put many things in perspective for me.
Thank God it is Friday. Can I get an Amen!
