Gosh, didn't know this existed. I'm Alex. Or should I say the imfamous (Randee/Alex) who authored these really fun stories about Les Saison, that kinda took a life on it's own thanks to Mem and some of the 'ol timers.

I grew up in Maplewood, went to Fielding, SOJH and graduated from CHS in'73. My Dad, Murray Speicher owned Randee's Restaurant which was on the corner of Springfield/Boyden across from a fire station. I think it's a TV store now. We owned it from '62 through...ummmmm maybe 68. He also owned SO liquors in'74-75. The Crossroads Bar (later The Showcase East) on Vauxhall Rd./Rt. 22, and finally Wally Tavern on the Hill (later the Showcase East) in Watchung. I believe it's called September's. After my first disastrous marriage, I moved to Boulder, CO in '78. Married/had my first daughter, then divorced. Moved out here to San Jose in '84. (yup, married again)had 3 more kids, and am still with my husband. :-)

I am a Real Estate Developer/Designer. Consult in my schools about diversity/tolerance. I also sing Karaoke, use to go to Satrbuck's (shocked Mem?)and am basically a bum....um 'scuse me .."a lady of leisure"...LOL.

I got to visit in '2000, stayed at Les Saison and had a truly wonderful time. Was recently realllllly disappointed about the atttacks on it I read in some posts.

I weighed 270 in 2001, but had gastric by-pass surgery on 7/30/01, and now weigh 98lbs. WOW ! :-)

I'm 47, years old. A recovering Jewish American princess.

Love Maplewood, and love this message board. Especially love the friends I made here.

Personally I think you should make Dave the unofficial Emperor of Maplewood. Absolutely no one has done for Maplewood what hai has with this site. You rule dude.

wish we could start up the Inn story again, and have it keep morphing into bigger and better stories.

Ahhhhhhhhh those were the days!

Love ya!

Dave was actually crowned the unofficial Emperor of Maplewood about a year ago. I have to laugh every time he wears the crown. Reminds me of a Parkay commercial.

Hi Randee,

Thanks and welcome back. I suppose I would have to live in Maplewood for that position, though, and Brian has already taken the title for South Orange while no one was looking.

Randee,
Hi.
Two questions:
- 270 lbs?
- No more Starbucks?
Cheers!
