A blog is a tough undertaking when I consider - why would anyone want to read my ramblings?????

First, a little background. I'm a transplant from Atlanta that's been in SO since the summer of 2000. Married for 10 years to Something Witty with a 7 year old daughter. Recently bought a new home in the village and enjoying/loathing all that comes with ownership. I've really enjoyed MOL and getting to know more folks in the community.

One of my dreams since childhood is to do comedy. I've done a few open mics at H2TA with various response. It's harder work than I thought, but anything worth it's while should be.

You do have a well-honed sense of humor and have made me laugh out loud countless times. I'm really glad to have met you and something witty and look forward to seeing you at H2tA.

Dave, did you just get your hair cut in that picture?

Continuing Buzzsaw's theme, Andrew Dice Clay or Dean Martin?

Actually never saw Martin and wasn't a devotee of the Dice Man...

Love Borat!! Kazahkstan's own Balki...

I enjoy Jon Stewart, Dom Irrera, Dennis Miller, as well as the aforementioned late Bill Hicks.

Jamie tells me I have to decide whether to be a comedian or a storyteller. So, this week I'll be working on whittling my stories down and making them punchier.

Come to H2TA next Monday evening at 9 PM and see how it plays out!!

I was born in Marietta, but lived all over the metro area. Met Something Witty near Emory (where she went to grad school) and, until last year, we owned a home in Stockbridge. Moved to SO in 2000.

I'm not sure why this question intrigues me, but -

what must it be like to be the ugly, less-talented little sister of an attractive, not really talented older sibling?
Case in point, Nicky Hilton and Ashley Simpson. They are fringe players riding on the coattails of their marginal celebrity sister
(I guess though not in their celebrity-status, but, rather, their actual talent...)

I wouldn't know what that would be like, as I am the attractive super-talented kinda-oldest sister (twin) of 4 younger sibs (6 of us total). I haven't yet achieved celebrity status, but I'm sure I could market a talent or two...

It was an akward minute there... I have a comedy question, though: Did anyone watch the Brit comedy "The Goodies" way back when? I find that comedy from the UK gets me laughing a lot quicker than American work. Maybe it's the persona? How would you describe british comedy? I don't quite know how to say "it"....

Back about 6 or 7 months ago, I volunteered to take on additional responsibility at work due to one of my colleagues being let go. The position involved taking over multiple sales territory - which I had never done before - in Connecticut and Long Island. It's been interesting meeting clients and going to areas I otherwise would not frequent; however, my company gave me little initial training - I know the products inside out, but sales is a different beast than other position I've held - and now part of my support team has been moved to a 'mission critical' position for at least 10 weeks (I'll bet she never comes back to her previous duties)... The comic in me appreciates the chaos for material sake - my boss didn't appreciate my addition of a tube of KY Jelly to my expense report - but putting 20K miles on my car in under a year kind of sucks and I ain't necessarily feeling the love from my company. I don't mind being in sales, but I wish I had some direction besides a number to strive for and, if I had my druthers, I'd like to find a way to use my creativity. I'm rambling, but I don't know where to even start to look for assistance.

As soon as you stop caring.

(My sneaks and other shoes with laces are tied loose enough to kick them off while at my desk or whenever. Shoes suck.)

I think it's safe to say that there won't be a comedy night at H2TA tonight.

Looks like there's still a lot of construction going on in upgrading the bar area.

Perhaps the town pool, or of course, Bunny's.

Drop a line if you are interested in attending a MOL F2F Field Trip to the Waffle House in Bethlehem, PA. Already slated to attend: Buzzsaw, Mayor McCheese, Monster...

Monster was lobbying for a middle of the week trip, but methinks a Sunday morning departure around 9AM might be best. Tentatively, Sunday, August 6th.

JB - it was indeed a pleasure meeting you and look forward to seeing you again soon!

9 am on a Sunday, does Monster know this?
