Anything inane, not interesting yet conterrarversal and amusing could be discussed here. Then again - anything insipid, awe inspiring or down right sexy could be posted. Yet decorum and good taste may be bypassed in favor of short tidbits of amusing and grotesque humor. Also part and parcel of this blog is the abuse, condemnation and above all celebration of all the institutions we’ve come to know and love. |

My Dad said years ago you could call anybody anything f*g, nazi, abortionist, black, white, yellow, jew, fascist, pacifist, hippie, intellectual, etc; But now no, in this PC world everything is incorrect or 'taboo'. Why, even being called a democrat or republican is derogatory. I'm an independent therefore I’m a "mamby pamby can't make my mind up twit". Just the other day an idiot cut me off driving, so I yelled (being PC of course) "Got your license sending in tops from a corn flakes box? You dumb human" He replied "human American, *ssh*le so watch your mouth”. From now on being ‘PC’ is out the window. |

Thinking about political correctness and watching late night TV caused me to go to bed way past my bedtime. This morning I decided to call in sick to have a lie in and catch up on sleep. My boss was disappointed that I would miss an important meeting. He said that when ever he was feeling bad he made love to his wife (his second wife, 20 years his junior and an ex NFL cheerleader) and it always made him feel better. Foregoing sleep I took his advice and noted that he has a nice house too. |

(Continued)...Back at work today; My boss seemed to be in bad humor, his administrative assistant (admin) seemed to think he got in an argument with his wife (second wife, 20 years his junior and an ex NFL cheerleader). Now where did I put my watch, haven't seen it since yesterday...

My Lord, are you planning to grace Bunnies tonight with some choral string music ? If so, I may join you, if my humble presence is worthy of your esteemed lordness ! |

Get off your knees LD - grovelling doesn't become you. Just turn up, order a pint and tell them to stick it on the lords tab.. |

... My boss (in charge of a website and website copy and whose name is not Dave and is definitly no lazy) called me into his office. This is approximately how it went. - Pabulum, have a seat. It's come to my attention that you've been posting on a message board... - Um - I need you to concentrate on writing for my website, giving ideas to all our political and social correspondents so that they can continue to misinform the public. - But Sir - I've recognized your name on something called a ‘Soapbox’ - It could be someone using my name - Perhaps, on another matter I've been having a little to-do with my wife; yesterday she asked me to put my...then on top... in between...10 minutes!?!...rotating slowly... - sounds like part of a recipe (I said blushing) Then suddenly - I found your watch, Pabulum, in our bedroom. Are you having an affair with my wife? - No Sir. We only had sex, on your advice. - Very well, don't let it happen again, I’m to old to learn new recipes - No, it won’t - Good, get back to work. Oh, and no more posting. Whew, that was close. I’m meeting his wife for lunch tomorrow. And I ended up playing ‘Word Association 20,000 +’ for the rest of the afternoon... under another name

And I'm not one of the people who has noticed members posting the whole lyrics of a song, missing the point of the 'word association' thread. I'll rest on a park bench now. |

Tired of construction on I78? If you're heading west from NYC or JC (like 1&9) try the Hillside Avenue exit. Take Hillside north. make a left on Clinton Ave Then make a left on to Springfield. Next thing you know it you're in Maplewood. South Orange? no problem - Hillside to Clinton, turn right on to Bergen St then left on to SO Ave, easy. Be adventurous and take a side street every now and then. Lock your doors.
