Looks like this is a pretty quiet part of the site, but thought I'd post a little something anyway. Let's see, I'm new to town - haven't even moved in yet. Moving from the city (like everyone else, it seems) in the middle of next month. Married to a woman whom I met in a mutual friend's dream. Married about 6 1/2 years. One son, 2 years old. One kid on the way - due to arrive a few weeks after we arrive in Maplewood. Don't know the sex yet. Currently stressed out by the recession, fact I haven't sold our apartment yet, and all the expenses we're incurring in the big move. That's all for now. We'll see if anyone out there is reading this. |

Smithford: Welcome to Maplewood/South Orange and to MOL. If you have any questions regarding the new neighborhood post them here and we will try to help. |

Welcome Smithford. You've chosen a great town. Please allow me to get in my plug for the Newcomers club. It really helped my wife and I get settled in. http://www.newcomersclub.homestead.com Best of luck with the move! |

As long as we're plugging, don't forget the Library is a great place to get info about your new town. Bring your 2 year old to storytime, great place to meet other kids. NC |

Barleyrooty - yes, we'll check out the newcomers club. Actually, you had already got your plug in when you answered my post about TV, internet and alarms. So, thanks again. Librarylady - yes, we plan to come check out the library. My 2 year old loves reading! |
