Buzz, I just read your blog last night for the first time - had a chunk of quiet time (should have been sleeping) & I found it was like eating ice cream straight from the half pint carton - you plan to just have a spoon or two then a quarter and... well, I read the whole thing & now I want more! Most enjoyable & better for me than ice cream. Good Times, indeed. |

HARRY: That's right. Yeah, I've had a team working on this over the past few weeks, and, uh, what we've come up with can be reduced to two fundamental concepts. One: people are not wearing enough hats. Two: matter is energy. In the universe, there are many energy fields which we cannot normally perceive. Some energies have a spiritual source which act upon a person's soul. However, this soul does not exist ab initio, as orthodox Christianity teaches. It has to be brought into existence by a process of guided self-observation. However, this is rarely achieved, owing to man's unique ability to be distracted from spiritual matters by everyday trivia. ANOTHER ATTENDEE OF THE MEETING: Can I get back to that first point of yours? What was that about the hats?

Monday=Tuesday. The four day week! I must say I had an amazing long weekend. Friday I slipped out a bit early and met some MOLers at bunnies for some pizza and beer (not in that order). Saturday seems like a year ago, but I took my son to the beach. It was cold. Back in the day - I would go in with the Polar Bears on New Years Day - but not THIS day. It was frigid. The wee one went in, but this one went in up to his knees. Sunday was the same as Saturday. Monday was just a four star Maplewood day. Went to kings at 9 or so, and watched the parade afterwards. The sun was warm and the breeze was cool. Lawnmowers took a break and let the sounds of late spring creep into my ears. I could smell bbq smoke all around. And if you listened closely, you could hear the ice pop that my son was eating drip on to my new couch. Memorial Day. We sometimes need a reminder. So many people have given their lives for us and this country. People that had family waiting for them and things they wanted to do when they got home..... I know what you, the reader, are wondering. Who is the man in the yellow hat? It's me! At the time I was working for the company that put the movie "the mask" out. We had a guy that would dress up as the mask and go to events. One day there was this big phoney party at FAO Schwartz for money types that have so much they give away a good amount to charity (and good for them, we all need charity sometimes). At the last moment the guy calls in sick. I was "chosen" to dress up and goto this thing, dressed as the mask. I got to tell Donald Trump he looked "smoooookin'". I also got scotch with Bill Butell from Ch. 7 news. |

How can the internet be wireless? How are my cell phone calls finding me? These questions makes me want to wear a tin foil hat. But the real question is - will tin foil really help me? Maybe I should look into something thicker and more absorbant.

I would never steel. Though once I found $60 in the Union Market. I saw the fold of $20s and I didn't know what to do. Then I looked around - no one looked worried....and I pocketed it. This $60 helped me to get the atari 2600. The atari 2600 to me was an apple falling on my head in a zero gravity situation. |

It can always be remembered as an "youthful indiscretion". I applaud your ability to utilize imagery to describe anything...quite Dickens-like. |

"youthful indiscretion".....I like that. Karma has come around on me for the $60. I lost $100 once. So it cost me $40 for the $60. OK. Not bad. This is it. It's summer out there. The New York City air has that feel to it. Not quite pea soup - more like miso soup. A thin broth with some chunks and floating green stuff. Don't get me wrong...I love summer. The thing is - the start of summer means putting the air conditioning in. I feel like I just took out the crusty bastards. I have the older ones that are like hanging an old Cadillac out of my window. They stay in place with really strong prayers and questionable wood. FAVORITE SOFT DRINK: 7up |

I once bought a wallet at the Morrow sale and found $100 in it (in very old 5's and 10's - like 1970s bills). I called an old friend who is my morals-meter and she said I could keep it. She justified it by telling me about an experience she had at the Morrow sale as a child: she bought a locked jewelry box(no key available), and broke the lock when she got home to see what was in it. Well, let's just say her mother said it was okay to keep it, so her mother's words of wisdom allowed me to keep the $98 I made off the wallet. |

buzzsaw, we have one of those gigantic A/C units too. I'm always afraid it's going to fall out and take the whole damn window with it. Cools off almost the entire first floor though! Gotta get us some central A/C, so all we have to do is throw a switch. Ah, now there's a dream! |

I went to bed last night thinking things happen in threes. I had three very strange dreams last night. 1) I was back at college and it was the last day of classes. I was trying to get on the road early so I would not have to drive home in the dark. But something made me stay late. I just HAD to have one last meal in the cafeteria. 2) I was back at my Grandparent's place - a home that was very close to my heart. The only thing I would do there is eat cookies, run through the sprinkler and watch MASH with my Granddad. Anyway - in my dream I was in the house and the new owners were not at home. I was snooping around and found a bunch of my Granddad's old hats. I put them under my arm and looked around some more. There was a Christmas tree lit in a dark room. In real life and in my dream my Granddad is dead. I thought to myself in the dream "Hey - Granddad, if you're out there blink the christmas lights three times." BLINK BLINK BLINK. Then the new owners came in the room and I ran out the back door. 3) I was at some sort of function. Not sure - for some reason I feel like it was a church thing. I was surrounded by my friends, family, school mates and people from work. We were all talking and having a good time. Then, for some reason water pipes were busting all over the place. I was the only one to notice this and I shouted for everyone to get out of the room. Most people followed me. Some got swept away in the water. My eyes opened and my heart was racing. It was about 3am. I rolled around a bit loudly so my wifey would hear me. I said "Are you up, I had this strange dream". She said, "hrmmmrmm that's zzzzzzzz". I fell back alseep. We both woke up, as usual to our little one running into our room. We got to talking and my wife said that she heard some one calling her name shortly after I woke her up. Later in the morning she got a call and was told her mom was in the hospital. Taken there at 2am Texas time (3am our time) complaining of chest pains. (( it seems that my mother-in-law will be ok )). I am sure if I were to look in a dream book, it would tell me what I already know - I am stressed out, wishing I was a child again and wanting to keep my family safe. I wish I had that dream where I could fly and I meet up with Lois Lane who happens to be Nicole Kidman..... Life is weird. Life is funny. Last night I was playing with my son in his room and I wanted him to use the potty. I said, "hey - I think Batman has to go pee..let's take him to the bathroom". My son looked at me like an old man and said, "Daaaaaaaad, you're silly - Batman doesn't have a penis". I suppose Adam West would beg to differ.

Ohhhhhhh musicme - I know this. I have had really bad jobs. One summer I had to steam clean the inside of garbage trucks....the part where they put the garbage in! That smell. I will never get it out of my mental nose. I suppose I have a case of "the grass is always greener". Maybe I should just smoke the grass. Somedays I am not sure if I am sick of my jobby or the commute. Recently I was waiting for the train and checking out the bread/egg delivery guy. To me, at that moment - that was my dream job.
