Buzz - Alaska is awesome - all those pictures in my blog were from a cruise we took last summer. I don't like cruises at all, but that's the best way to see Alaska unless you have your own plane, make that a seaplane. I would love to see your pictures if you went - you just can't take a bad photo there. |

Its funny. My brother, who currently lives in Africa, is one of the most travelled people I know. He has been almost everywhere in the world, from encountering Pirates on the Amazon in Brazil, to Cobra's in Africa, to New Delhi India and East Asia. In fact he is moving to Indonesia this summer. He has taken the Ranger Course for the US Army and done the live fire drills in Panama and the only place he told me he has ever felt remotely afraid was in Alaska. About two miles behind his hotel. He said you get so isolated so fast that you have no idea what might come charging out of the forest. A Grizzly or a grizzled old psycho. I thought that kind of interesting as Alaska is on my short list of absolute must Fishing destinations. The photos on these blogs just re-inforce that. |

Buzz, Is that bench located in Hoboken? If not, I must be having a crazy dream myself because it took me right back to walking around my former town... |

Bets: I have never seen a giraffe wear socks like that! Cool. Mem: I have never been to Alaska - but I will someday. That must have been a blast! My best vacation pictures are from Ireland. Duncan: MOL fishing trip to Alaska could be fun. I see a short film....a bunch of peole brought together by the internet go fishing in Alaska only to find out Alaska is being over run by vampire warewolfs that like to race cars. Your brother sounds like a wild guy! Sparkleb: Yes - that's Hoboken! I love that town...birthplace of Frank Sinatra, the Oreo Cookie and Baseball. This picture was Hoboken - but now this bar is a fancy cafe with really good burgers:
FAVORITE HOBOKEN PIZZA: Leo's bar pies. |

I love Hoboken too! I miss it very much, even though there is much I am loving about my new digs in South Orange. Elysian Fields! Now Cafe Elysian. I have to say, I was sort of afraid to step foot in Elysian Fields when it was still the bar in your picture. Highly enjoyed the proximity of the bar to the giant gold elk, though. I went when it was Cafe Elysian and just about died enjoying the mural work there -- do you know anything about it? Was it original? Or just looked it because of the layers of smoke? Leo's! OMG, Leo's. How can you not love Leo's? chicken saltimboca was it? with the eggplant and the cheese. mmmmm... I'm kind of crying a little bit just thinking about it since I lived just a few blocks away. I've heard Hoboken is changing a lot since they upped the rents on Washington. But I guess the more things change, the more, well, you know... |

MUSICME: Tube Bar. I just read about that place in weird NJ. What was the name of that bar in the bastmet of the WTC near the path trains? That was a quaint little place. Sparkelb: I LOVE THAT PICTURE. Did you take it? That is a classic. My favorite memory is of Leo behind the bar and the place was filled with the St. Patrick's day parade crowd. He was SO pissed...washing every glass by hand. He knew me and would always serve me when he saw me behind the crowd. --My father, who was a P.A. cop would go there a lot and would always say "Leo, the day he gives you a buy back the place will close".-- Anyway - that crowded day I mentioned I was on my way to meet my girlfriend (now wife) at the moveis. He said "this beer is on me - get to the pictures with your girl". The pictures. I loved that. I used to sit and talk to him about "Mr. Sinatra" all the time. There was a bar stool that was on top of the bar. He said "Mr. Sinatra was the last one to sit there". Bets: Le Bar Bat FAVORITE SONG ON EXILE ON MAIN STREET: Just want to see his face.

Me too. Sore throat and overflowing sinuses. I wasn't at Le B's yesterday anyways. I think tomorrow is finally Independence Day, so I'm prepping up for that despite how crappy I feel. Cannot WAIT to get this shti out of my house and reboot my life. |

I am. Copying files from the "old computer" to CD in preparation of turning said "old computer" over to its rightful owner tomorrow. I think I'll be 95 percent free once the files/filing cabinet and computer are gone (along with the cow heads, the 850-count box of gumballs, videos/DVDs and CDs). Then I have to format the hard drive of the "old computer" and reinstall the original Windows ME software. I'll give the XP upgrade I purchased on the owner's credit card too, and let him figure out what to do. Still not feeling too hot!! |

This photo is one of the only photos of the super group "midnight buffett". When I say super group, I really mean me and my room mate trying to play jazz accordian. When I say jazz, I really mean not playing any songs that anyone would know. I love that accordian. For every key there is a memory. The buttons on the other side have no memories. I really don't use them. I went to a music store and traded in an old casio keyboard and a flute for that accordian. The store was on German street. What struck me was that the guy who owned the store was German. |
