Sunday, January 22, 1 – 4 p.m. Join us for "Gustav Stickley: his Houses and his Influence" at the Durand-Hedden House. At 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. Peter Copeland, Maplewood resident and owner of the Parchment Press, will present a slide talk describing the Arts and Crafts Movement in turn-of-the century America and the prominent place of Gustav Stickley within it. Stickley served as a spokesman, furniture designer and manufacturer, architect, publisher and social critic. Craftsman Farms, Gustav Stickley’s former home in the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills is now a National Historic Landmark and there are two Stickley homes in Maplewood. Parchment Press publications on the Arts and Crafts Period will be available. There will be an origami home building activity for the kids!
