There are four pen and inks by Vernon Howe Bailey (best biography I could find was here)}in the NY Historical Society's Henry Luce III Center for Study of American Culture The call numbers and subjects are: 1981.143 Maplewood Municipal Building 1981.219 South Orange "Public Building" 1981.200 South Orange "Community House" 1981.145 CHS (listed being in SO... but we all know its in Maplewood, unless its on the news for somethign bad and it can be in SO) Next time I'm in the city I'll wander over there and see if I can't view them. It is supposed to be a relatively open-access archive. This guy apparently drew a picture of any building of note anywhere in NNJ and NYC. It might be a viable fundraiser to find out about reproduction rights, and sell framed copies, or cheap posters for the basement?} This same Luce Center apparently owns a couch out of the Durand Hedden house! Kinda random -John |

What is the date of the CHS drawing? Old CHS was in downtown SO until the new one opened in 1927. |
