The Durand-Hedden House and Garden, 523 Ridgewood Road, Maplewood invites the publis to its March program titled, "Listening to the Past: Recording Family Oral Histories" on Sunday, March 26, 1-4 p.m. The personal memories and stories that friends and relatives share with one another are part of the glue that binds families and communities together. At 2:30 p.m. historian Howard Green will explain how to capture and preserve these priceless stories by carrying out an oral history project with fiends and family members.

Beginning at 1:00 p.m. there will be an opportunity to view an example of one of the videotaped oral history conversations called "Sound Bytes and Bagel Bites" that SO Productions and the South Orange Historical Society have produced to document the history of neighborhoods in South Orange.
