Does anyone remember Fern Forman, a science teacher who taught at MJH briefly in the early 1970's? She died a few days ago at age 58. She only taught a few years, went on to own a high-class dress shop in Millburn, and then to be a personal shopper at Neiman Marcus. She was active in Jewish affairs, especially fundraising. Other science teachers I can recall: Mrs. Moresco, Thomas Palma, and Joe Ghegan. |

That was a different Mr. Palma, Robert Palma. But perhaps they were related? |

Mr Krehel! Walter Krehel from CHS who taught Chemistry from 76 -84 and is one of the best teachers ever. I recently learned, from MOL, that he was now at Cedar Grove and I emailed him to tell him how great he was. |

Bob Palma and Thomas Palma were brothers. Thomas, taught Physics (I had him, and he was great); Bob, Math. Bob died several months ago, I don't know the cause. He was featured in the Star Ledger a few years ago, when he severely injured his finger on his lawn mower, and in the emergency room, the doctor turned out to be a former student. Thomas was also featured in the Star Ledger, several years ago, in their annual best student/teacher combination. He left CHS to become Science Department Head at one of the Hunterdon County Regional High Schools |

I remember fondly Mr. Mellenger for chemistry at CHS in the 60-70's. Wonderful teacher. I remember Mr. Lew who was my homeroom teacher and then left because he was called to active duty in the reserves and then something happened that he didn't have to go and he came back...he taught biology...big scandal after I graduated in 1971 when he got engaged to a student...I think he went to Irvington High to teach but after that I don't know. I also had Mr. Dobbelaar for Biology who died mid-year my sophomore year at CHS.

I, too, had Joe Ghegan, back in '75-'76, and he was great. Never took the final... it's a secret why. I knew his father too, a jeweler. Mr. Ghegan retired some years ago. |
