10 years ago, I met a young guy from Maplewood (I was living in DC at the time) and he was talking about his town and how they built a wall on the town border with Newark or Irvington....fast forward 10 years, now I live here, and I've never seen aforementioned wall.....just curious, does it exist?

Don't know if it exists now, but it was more like a gate across the side streets along the Irvington border which run bwtween the towns.

This is funny! He's talking about the gates blocking street access to cars on a few streets near the Newark border at Irvington Ave. They were controversial at the time but they ended a lot of car theft.

If you want to see "the wall" drive around Irvington Ave from Boyden to Parker and back to Boyden on Parker and peer in the streets to your right.
