I attend Clinton School from 1946 and finished 6th grade in 1952. About 72 of us where in the class. We were the last small class before the larger enrollment. At that time the Board of Education offices where located in Clinton School taking the equalivant of two class rooms and then a third for the Board Room. Principal in 1952 was Mr. Mattis who succeeded Dr. McDavitt who was to become the Superintendent. We did have a great group of teachers who really cared for us kids. I had Miss Rice (5th), Miss Long (2nd), Miss Cummings (3rd), Miss Rolland (4th), Mrs. Gardner (6th), Mrs. Saunier (1st), and Miss Ashelmann for Kindergarden. They certainly helped me overcome my shyness. It is just funny writing "Miss" instead of Ms. We all went off to the old South Orange Jr. High on Academy. Carl Schmid
