I was at the SO library the other day poking through some of their old publications on SO. I found one that did not have a date, but I guess would be from the 30s or so. In it there was a picture of "The Wyoming Synogogue." Anybody know anything about this - where it was located, what became of it, etc. I would be very interested in finding out more information.

Thanks.

There was a large estate on Wyoming Ave. owned by a Jewish family(can't think of their name). The house and grounds were donated or sold to a synagogue.I think it was used more for meetings and youth rather than services. Drive along Wyoming heading to West Orange. You'll see condominiums on your left. The house was torn down and the condos were built.

Thanks for the info. I did hear awhile ago that there was an old big house there owned by a synogogue that is now in Livingston - I believe Bnai Abraham. Maybe I will call them to see if I can get more info.

Temple B'nai Abraham was located on Clinton Ave and South 10th Street in Newark,NJ. The membership needed a place to use for its members who were relocating to the suburbs. The Temple purchased the Eisler Estate on Wyoming Ave. The bldg housed classrooms and mtg rooms plus it was a great property for weddings and various parties. It was called the "Suburban House" and when the main bldg in Newark was sold so was the suburban one. 321 Wyoming Ave is the address.
