Hi there,

I've gathered as much info as I can on this game, but I'd like to know more.
Does anyone know much about this? I'm wondering how much the pros were paid, and by what connection they came to play in SO for the day.
Thanks!

There was a great article in the News-Record's 100th Anniversary edition some years ago. It may be worth a call down there, or a trip to the Library (a better idea), to take a look.

If you have ever seen the shirt for the south Orange Baseball Rac. League, it's motto is Where the Legends Played. I've heard that it was a charity game where Ruth, Gehrig, and some other Yankees at the time played to raise money. Rumor has it that Babe Ruth hit a ball over the train tracks (of couse they weren't ther at time, but that's where it went). Sorry it's a little late, I was just looking around at some posts and I saw this one
