this thread is so old I don't know if anyone who posted is still reading it. I knew Lou Schindel (now deceased see other thread on MOL)...he was very environmentally conscious and headed a group called ENVIRONACTION made up of adults and teens (of which I was one) They first brought the GlassMobile to town to re-cycle glass...the first time was so successful that eventually we did it once a month, also collected newpapers and aluminum. The glass mobile was a huge tractor trailer dumpster type thing with sections to separate the glass by color. We would help people unload their cars and sort the glass and then some people would be delegated to put the glass into the glassmobile. When it was full the Glassmobile company came an towed it away and we got money for the contents. |
