National Geographic features an article every month on a town in the US. I am sending in a request that they feature Maplewood, because of it's many interesting dynamics. I think if enough of us send this recommendation we might find ourselves in National Geographic. The email address is zip@nationalgeographic.com |

Maybe we can recommend that they do So.Orange/Maplewood since in so many ways we are one community. |

I sent mine in. I described the town, the community, the history, the bordering towns and the reval. Even MOL. |

Jg, Did you send in a photo of the scene of the crime, i.e., the Train Tracks? You didn't mention you know who did you? |

I received a reply from National Geographic is response to my request to have South Orange/Maplewood concidered for a ZIPUSA piece. From "Sara Wickware" Date Wednesday, September 5, 2001 5:42 pm Subject Re: South Orange/ Maplewood New Jersey 5 September 2001 Thanks for sending us your Zip Code suggestion. We are grateful for the reader responses we've received so far and want to encourage this exchange of ideas. Please forgive the delay in answering but you have unknowingly suggested a location in a state we have either already selected, are preparing the coverage, is soon to be published, or has been published. When we finish all 50 states we will start over again. Regards from the Zip Code Committee |

No, not next year. If they want to do the balance of states before they re-do NJ, and they publish once a month, It will be 4 years plus a few months before they loop back. I wonder what Maplewood will be like then. |
