Had an unusual request from Italy the other day, and I'm hoping someone here knows the answer. The person is writing a biography of architect Peter Eisenman and wanted to know which elem school he attended. I've got that he was born in 1932 in Newark, and graduated from CHS in 1950 (and was inducted into the CHS HoF in 1998), but not having much luck with those in-between school years. Due to the construction at CHS, the library and archives are not available, and I cannot get to my school anytime soon to dig through anything I may have. Did anyone here attend school with Mr Eisenman, and/or know which elementary school he may have attended? Thanks!

Suzanne Ng, South Mtn School Librarian

Answer found -- thanks to Chroma -- Called the architectural firm and spoke to Mr Eisenman directly. Turns out he DID attend South Mtn!

I met Peter Eisenman for the groundbreaking for the The Aronoff Center for Design and Art (the DAAP building at UC) http://www.daap.uc.edu/library/archcinci/14daap.htmlwhen I was a student there. Unfortunately, I did not know at the time that he was from South Orange. I would have jumped at the chance to have a connection with him.

Commemerative posters were being handed out, and he signed mine, holding both a silver and gold marker in one hand; I remember thinking that I used to do the same thing with markers from the art store in the Union Market.
