It was a rock band formed by Maplewood police officers and as kids in grammar school we thought it was the greatest thing EVER!!! I remember their names were Ricky, Mike and I want to say Larry??? How I even remember this, some 33 years later is beyond me. Anyone else remember the assemblies they performed in and what they are up to these days, are any still on the PD? |

Rick was Richard J. Richadella who was the former Police Chief about 5 years ago. |

Mike Minetti retired and lives in Colorado- The Fuzz Band turned into The Cherry Brothers and they were a great band during the days of Happy Hours and live entertainment in bars. Scott Huber is still around - I believe he is a chiropractor in Berkely Heights. Wow. |

No, The Watch was a much bigger club band who played at Dodd's, Creation, The Lighthouse and the Jersey Shore at D'Jais, Sea Girt Inn and Jerry Lynch's. I occasionally still see Joe B. who played bass- he owns a recording studio. |

I remember seeing the Watch all over the place too - mostly at Motionz in Irvington. They were a great club band. |

Wow..somebody else is out there recalling the Great Fuzz band. I have fond memories of that time, as I was in the Kruzin' 50's, which was another band of the same era. We sometimes opened for the "Fuzz". Anyone out there remember the Kruzin' 50's? Members included Anthony Marino (guitar), Mike Viola (bass) Jaime Durando (vocals), Eric Brody (keyboards), and the Melillo's Gerry and Ronnie (drums and sax). The dances we played were some of the best times I had growing up. Hope to hear from fellow band members, and anyone who remembers. |

Sure I remember the Fuzz too, they called themselves that because they were all police officers and the slang for cops was Fuzz. They played at the Maplewood Pool a few times too. They were a great public relations tool for the police dept. to appeal to the young people and be role models so that you didn't always see the police in confrontational ways. |
