Looking for pictures of Gove Park , SO. I live on Park Place, and our house is currently covered in aluminum siding, put on in the 50's. I understand from a neighbor that our house if from about 1909. It's in the middle of the block, a 2 family that now looks like a single family now.

Thanks.

Uncover a small portion to see what's underneath. I think you'll find clap board.

Sean, you lived next door!! I have 40-42, I love this house, having lived in both sides (it's a side by side).

The siding is original unpainted cedar shakes, circumstances, we're changing lattitude, have dictated not uncovering the siding. We're going to paint the aluminum as it is. I was interested in the trim and what the original porches looked like.

There is a lovely May Day photograph taken in Grove Park, in the book Images of America South Orange written by Naoma Welk. You can buy a copy of the book at the S.O. Library or at The Prescription Counter. The photo was in the book courtesy of The NJ Historical Society which is located in Newark.
