Anyone know who I mean? He could be seen cleaning streets all over but I used to see him around Boyden ave, meticulously cleaning. I think I remember reading about him in Weird NJ magazine? Anyone know?

Yep. He's still rakin' up a storm. Saw him on Parker and also on Prospect within the last two weeks.

RakeMan.

He was on Essex Avenue the other day. He was in Wierd NJ a couple of issues ago. They called him 'The Mad Rakist'. (?)

I've seen him on and around Parker a few times in recent weeks.

Scully, did they picture him in Weird NJ?

jab: Alas no. It was a couple of paragraph blurb from the front section. I'll see if I can get a copy from a daughter and print it here.

I saw him (least I think it was him - walks with a limp, right?) a few days ago and he seems to have picked up a new obsession. He was picking up all of the ad flyers (in plastic bags) off people's yards.

Does he toss them down the storm drains? Or do you think maybe this feeds another obsession: coupon clipping?

He's always done that, along with yard sale signs, open house signs etc all of which he shoves down the sewer at the corner of my property.

I've asked him politely (on multiple occasions) not to rake things into our sewer and he just grunts, turns around and walks away. I know it drives him crazy (crazier?) to leave stuff on our corner after he's swept the other 3 corners but that's not my problem.

Eliz, he probably just comes back after you've gone to sleep to finish your corner. I've heard that scratching against pavement noise late at night many times.

A few times lately we haven't been able to find our newspaper. Do you think he's starting his day before we have a chance to pick up the newspaper from the sidewalk? Or should we stick with our theory that some high school kid is the culprit?
