The Durand-Hedden House and Garden, 523 Ridgewood Road, Maplewood invites the public to its December open house titled, An Early American Musical Holiday Celebration on Sunday, December 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. At 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. historical balladeers Anne and Ridley Enslow will enthrall listeners with holiday songs and instrumental music from the late 1700’s and early 1800’s and the stories behind them. Attired in period costume, this charming husband-and-wife team will sing, while Anne plays the hammared dulcimer and Ridley the fiddle. Families will also delight in a display of antique toys from local collections and a cup of mulled cider by the warmth of the 1790 hearth. There will be a silhouette making activity for the kids. For holiday shopping the Country Store will be open with a wide array of unique gifts and books.
