My 16 year old son (17 in July) is gearing up to look for work for the summer in Maplewod area. He'll probably be in an AP calculus class in the AM most days but can work afternoons and weekends. He'd prefer something outdoors and/or to use his brain but almost anything that will keep him busy and pay him some money would be great. He's very bright, learns fast, tall and strong and is great with...grownups. He's extraordnarily personable and has a great sense of humor. He's serious and has plans for college to study computer engineering or film/video production. He's a very strong math student. He's just begun acting in the school's high school play, so who knows, he may decide that's something hew wants to pursue. Any suggestions, leads, referrals or offers would be appreciated. |

Mr. T- What a wonderful description to read about a son from a father. I would print that out and put it in his baby book so that one day he can read it and see what his Dad thought of him.....Just a wonderful read for me!!! Thanks for giving me an unexpected bright moment today! BGS |

S.O. sometimes hires extra groundskeepers for the summer in addition to pool staff. I think interviews are at Baird in April. Could call Baird and ask, if that kind of work is of interest. |

Or maybe he could apply at a local gardening center - I'm sure they can always use labor for landscaping, tree planting, even selling plants & shrubs to retail customers. He could learn a LOT and be outdoors all the time. |

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. AAMOF, I put in a call to Millstone today and they said that it'll be another few weeks before they know about summer hiring. Anyone with inside connections at a local garden and/or nursery store? landscaper? a summer pushing a lawnmower would be great for the boy. |

Check with the Adult School and the Y. Maybe even Newark Academy. They might need help with the 'camps.' He might even be able to use his acting, math computer skills! Or maybe some family with boys might want a 'big brother' baby sitter for their kids. He sounds like a great kid! |
