Dear Family,

My name is Hanna, I'm 23 yrs old and I'm originally from Sweden but have lived in Maplewood/South Orange for the past 2 years.
It's bitter-sweet to be looking for a new loving family to work for after working/living with the same family for over 2.5 years. I have watched the little baby girl whom was my charge when I started grow into a mature, beautiful 4 year old. I am so proud of her accomplishments and the experience is priceless to me. I have made friends for life and I feel so fortunate to have been a part of their family for so long. They are leaving South Orange for a job in VA so here I am, ready to make new connections.

I am currently a full time English literature major at Hunter College (NYC) I'll be looking to start my new job September 1st, 2006. I am looking for a position that is flexible enough to let me continue going to school full time. I have worked as a full time nanny for 3 years now and I've been going to school full time since 2004. Ideally, my new family would have school age children or a schedule that would allow me to start my day early in the morning to early evening, or from mid afternoon to later evening so I could schedule my classes around that and I am fully open to work weekends.
My only limitation is that my new family would have to live a commuter distance from Manhattan (preferably on a direct train/subway/bus/path line). I know the Maplewood/South Orange area very well and I would love to be able to stay here. It is also my preference to be a live-in nanny but I am not limited to that kind of situation.
The most important thing I've learned over the years it is to have patience. Be able to listen, and never run out of tissues, crayons or ideas for a rainy day I don't believe in TV as a "good source" of entertainment for more than 30 min max (depending on the child's age) and I believe that a positive attitude goes a long way.
If you are interested, I'd love to hear from you. Please call or email me directly. Exellent references available upon request.
Sincerely,
Hanna-Klara Thurfjell
