I have an unpaid internship in NYC this summer Tues-Thurs and would like to earn some money the other days of the week. I am open to both steady work and occasional or one-time jobs. With the exception of the last week in July, I will be around until the end of August. I am looking for interesting experiences and a way to fund tri-weekly trips to the city, but have no requirements beyond that. Here are some examples of what I can do: *Babysitting- Experienced babysitter (7+ years). However, I do not drive. *Tutoring- K-12, AP, SAT I & II. Looking to catch up for next fall? Want to get summer homework out of the way? Worried about the test scores? I have an effective but low-stress approach to standardized tests as well as tutoring experience in algebra, pre-calc, chemistry, and physics. As a recent CHS graduate I am familiar with the curriculum and teachers for many classes so I know what your high schooler is going through and how they can excel. At the high school level I can help with geometry, algebra, pre-calc, (AP) chemistry, (AP) physics, world history, (AP) US history, and AP gov/pol. For younger students I can help with basic math and reading skills. *College Essay Help- The personal statement is perhaps the most dreaded and mysterious aspect of the college admissions process, but there is no reason for it to be painful. Approached calmly, the college essay can actually humanize the application experience. If your student is overwhelmed by the task of expressing herself in 500 words, stricken with writer's block, or simply looking to get it out of the way before a very busy senior fall, I can help. *Other Skills- I can make a website (basic HTML/CSS or using a content management system so that you can easily update it through the web), do some basic programming (Ruby, C/C++, Scheme), and other computer jobs, just ask! I also know Final Cut & Avid, do a fair amount of film and animation, and make lots of fliers.
