Hello, My search function refuses to work, and I'm sorry if this information has been posted previously. Also I hope that this is the best category to post my question! I am interested in finding work doing copy editing, writing, web research or anything in that general area. The trouble is that I am inexperienced- I graduated college in 2003, but since then have only been working small customer service type jobs, traveling, and attempting to fill my writing portfolio. Longer story short, does anyone have any advice for me? Is freelancing something completely impossible for someone 'entry level' to do? I appreciate any suggestions that anyone might have for me. Thanks! |

You should check out http://www.elance.com. I did other kind of freelance work through that site. You can review different projects (and there are lots of them) and bid on the job. You can post the work you have done in your portfolio and the person contracting the job out will look at it and use it to decide if your writing/style is a good fit. At first, you may want to bid a little on the low side to get a following, but as you get more experience, you can bid at a higher rate, and you'll be building your portfolio in the meantime. Good luck! |
