what is the standard amount you pay your babysitter? do you pay hourly? Do you pay more if it is nighttime work as opposed to daytime? Do you pay more if the child has a playdate while the sitter is there?

We pay $10 an hour. Babysitter is in college and we have one child. I don't pay more for nighttime than daytime. I'm not sure about the playdate situation but my guess is that it would be the same rate, just different activity. But I suppose you'd want to have an agreement ahead of time.

High school students get less than college students. I think if a job gets very late, then yes, more paying than the usual rate is appropriate. I don't know about extra for a playdate. Probably not unless it entails lots of extra trouble.
