Hi, does anyone have experience accepting credit cards? I am doing a trade show and hear that some studios don't pay so i would like to be able to take credit cards. I don't know if i will keep selling directly or go back to using an agent, so i don't want to invest too much money! help! thanks, Kristen |

If I remember correctly you should open a merchants account (any local bank will be able to do so), and get one of those credit cards swiping thingies. The rest is just procedure....PM if you have more questions. |

If you are a Costco member I think they have a service for this. |

Worse comes to worse, you could always open up a PayPal account |

It seems like the cheapest way to go is to get a telephone account where you just call in the credit card number via phone/cell phone. |

I use ProPay and am very happy with it. I can process over the phone or computer and transfer the money into my bank account within days (some services make you wait for a check in the mail). www.ProPay.com |

Speaking of credit cards, A client of my All Things Computered business asked me if, one day, he could use one of the services like Paypal or Verisign to accept credit cards, and have a "delay charge" on them. It takes him about a week to ship a product after someone orders, and he wants to charge the credit card when he ships, not when someone orders. I know that Paypal and Verisign charge the card when someone fills out the credit card info and presses the Submit button. My client wants the entire credit card acceptance process to be automated. Thanks, Marc All Things Computered www.millburnweb.com
