I'm certain that there are a good amount of freelancers and Independant Contractors in town and I was wondering where you get your Health Insurance? Our Cobra is coming to an end and we need to get coverage. Any suggestions or estimates on how much it might cost? Thanks, Mike |

Amerihealth was the cheapest HMO I could find. However, not many of our doctors accepted them. Approx. $1100 a month for a family. Temporarily we chose one of the BlueCross traditional plans with a very high out of pocket ($15k a year per person). But the plan is the cheapest out there ($650) for a family. Unless you have a major emergency, this will be cheaper then a full HMO plan. And you still get the benefit of in plan rates. Also it might be worth it to check if there is a professional society in your field, that offers health plans for their members. IEEE for example just started offering health insurance in NJ through Cigna. |
