I work in public radio and am new to South Orange. Would love to meet anyone else who lives around here who also works in radio or documentary film. Working at home is isolating enough, but combined with being new in town, it's even worse.

I know of a WNYC radio producer that lives in Maplewood. She was freelancing out of her house until last summer, but now commutes to lower Manhattan. I'll try to alert her about your post.

Welcome to South Orange! My husband and I are both DJs/producers on WFMU - great freeform station at 91.1. That's a volunteer effort, immensely satisfying. I hear there are more radio people in the SOMA area, but haven't stumbled across any in the year and a half we've been here. Maybe we'll start a klatsch?

Thanks Bambam. I love WFMU. And a coffee klatsch would be fun. Maybe we could post something on one of the boards that has more action (home improvement? food?) and see if anyone else wants to come.

I produce news features for NPR, WBGO and hopefully others soon. Just moved here from Oregon. I don't check this site daily, but can be reached by email:

ncsolomon@earthlink.net

I'd be willing to organize a little get together if anyone wants to email me.

Nancy

The radio klatch will convene Saturday, Nov. 10th, at 4 p.m. at NetNomads Cafe, on Baker St. in Maplewood.

All welcome.

The closest I ever came to being on the radio was an aircheck I submitted to WABC-FM (before it became WPLJ) in 1972. I have a great face for radio, and would love to tryout for WFMU. Any chance I can talk with you guys about it?
