My daughter Mariah May is looking for a summer job. She just applied to get her own screen name at Maplewood Online. Until she can post for herself, I told her I would put it up on MOL that she is seeking a summer job. Mariah is a graduate of Columbia HS and just finished her second year at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ. She is majoring in Political Science and minoring in Computer Science. Her job experience ioncludes lifeguarding at the Maplewood Pool and elsewhere, babysitting (she got her Red Cross Babysitting Certificate a few years ago), and working at a local internet cafe. Mariah is making the rounds at local eateries and stores and filling out applications, like I imagine hundreds of students are doing right now. I suggested that she post on Maplewood Online, in the hopes that she could get a job actually using her recently acquired college knowledge re politics and computers, etc. She has references and a resume. She can be contacted at our home phone number in Maplewood: 973-761-1774. Thanks.

And MY daughter, Suzanne Janow, is also home looking for a summer job. Suzanne is also a graduate of CHS and has just finished her second year at Rutgers College in the Honors Program. She is double majoringing in Economics and Psych with a minor in English. She has been babysitting in the MOL community since forever, has her Red Cross CPR and babysitting certificates and has also down a great deal of office work (Word,Excel, etc) for local businesses. She has been a cat care specialist as well. She will be leaving in late Sept for her Semester Abroad at Univerversity College of London so she will be around town for about a month longer than most returning students. She has her own car, if available day and night and would love to hear from someone, anyone, who has any possible leads. Suz can be reached at 973-762-4987 or at Sjanow@rutgers.edu (Thanks, ED! Say hi to Mariah from Suzanne!) |

If your college student has ever worked in an office (even for breaks or summers) and has decent computer skills and transportation, please PL me. I work for a company in Summit and we use summer temps...my girls worked for us for 4 summers and were exposed to lots of companies that they would never have known about. Great business experience and it looks good on that resume at the end of your education. |
