Looking for some extra income? I'm a Maplewood resident with a side business, searching for a woman or man with a college degree who could commit to 4-6 hours a week of phone work. You'd read from a script until you were comfortable pitching the service, and there would be more $$ for you if any prospecting turns into a sale.

It's cold-calling into Fortune 1000 accounts--it's not for everyone. 19 out of 20 people will say "no", but I'm hoping you can help me find the 20th person. You will average 20 calls per hour, with an hourly rate of $10.

Private-line me if you're interested. A good speaking voice with a decent vocabulary is expected.

Thanks!

just curious - why are you looking for someone with a college degree if he/she will simply be reading from a script?

You need to go to college so as to obtain the prerequisite "decent vocabulary" as specified in the advertisement.

GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!

Granted, the average CHS graduate may not be able to properly conjugate the verb "ain't", but how in hell does my not having the extra 4 years of education disqualify my ability to read a script!

I would assume some sort of interview process is a part of the hiring process - shouldn't that be a more appropriate means of determining whether I am well spoken and fitted for the task at hand?

I should think degreed individuals are just as likely as a GED holder to emit "um's" in the course of a conversation.

I wonder if this is the person who keeps showing up on our caller id boxes?

You're right--I don't need a college degreed person. It's a technical service I'm pitching, one that works. It's targeted to a CIO of Fortune 1000 companies, and magic-wand hoping for someone with 4-5 hours of extra time who will eventually understand the service enough to answer a first-level question.

And I promise I've never called anyone's home--this is a new venture and I'm simply looking for some help.

Thanks!
