Hello,

I'm new to town and struggling to find a quicker commute to downtown Brooklyn. Does anyone know of anyone who drives, how long it takes, and if they're interested in a paying rider?

Thanks,

Kharris,
I go to Brooklyn often and I found the best way is to take 1 & 9 South to the Goethals Bridge, take that to the Verrazano. It's expensive though. Good luck.

Hi,
I hope its not too late to respond to this post.
I will begin my commute to Downtown Brooklyn in September.
It would work well if we drove in since there has to be at least two people in the car to get throught the tunnel.
I will check this page often, hoping for your response. My computer is in seious need of space, so if I leave my emnail address it wont come through.
I hope we can get it together.

Best way to get to downtown Brooklyn is to take the Holland Tunnel into Manhattan and then take the Brooklyn Bridge into Brooklyn. If you leave very early in the morning, it shouldn't take too long to get there but driving back to M/SO in the afternoon can take much longer.

The major problem however is likely to be parking, which is very expensive in downtown Brooklyn. Unless you need the car for business during the day, you are much better off commuting by mass transit. Most of downtown Brooklyn is very easy to reach by subway.
