I was laid off from my job as a financial editor for an investment bank at the end of January. After taking a much-needed break from the rat race to spend time with my kids (11 and 8), I need to start my job search. Ideally I'd like to freelance or get a 3-4-day part-time position, but I have no idea how to go about it. I've sent my resume to a couple of people whose names I got from friends, but have not had any luck. I've been constantly employed without a break (I don't really count maternity leave as a break!) since I graduated college, so trying to find freelance work is new to me. Although the majority of my experience is financial, I also have experience with medical material and fiction. Any suggestions and/or contacts would be greatly appreciated. | ||
