Any recommendations for good restaurants in and around Westfield? Italian and Mexican don't count. So far, the Yahoo listings that look remotely interesting are Fuji Japanese Cuisine, Mashan Indian Cuisine, and a strange listing for Nagoya Corporation.

Mojave Grill: It's NOT Mexican, more like fine dining Southwestern Cuisine. Wonderful food, good service, casual but nice environment and it's BYO (with a liquor store one block away). It's one my favorite restaurants outside of Manhattan.

It's a chain, but we enjoy Wild Noodles, especially my 2 1/2 year old.

Hmm .. wild noodles? Sounds intriguing. Someone also mentioned Fujiyama Mama. Has anyone been there?

I've been to Fujiyama Mama. It's ok. A friend of mine lives in Westfield, and we go there occasionally for lunch. I wouldn't seek it out otherwise.

There was a new Indian restaurant, but my friend said it closed. Can't remember the name, so I'm not sure if it's the one you listed. Star of India in Kenilworth has very good Indian food--might not be close enough to Westfield for you, though.

Wild Noodles IS SO UP MY ALLEY (no pun intended) and I went out of my way to go there. Unfortunately the food was sub-par.

Really? We're food snobs, and for a chain it's pretty good. Different strokes, I guess. Also anything that's toddler-friendly gets high marks from us no matter what!

Ate at a recently opened restaurant in Westfield named Blue Water the other night. It is a seafood restaurant located on North Avenue near the train station. BYOB. Very good. Somewhat expensive at $50/person, but worth it. It was full but only had to wait about 15 minutes. It seems very popular and they must be doing at least three turns on weekend nights.

Love Mojave Grill (and Teresa's which is owned by the same owner and has upscale Italian food). Fujiyama Mama is good for sushi and has a hibachi room which is fun.
Wild Noodles is good for a quick meal with kids (you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table when its ready).
