Anyone tried Giotto on Midland Ave, off Bloomfield Ave in Montclair? I've heard good things about it...

No, but I've heard good things too. Have been to Fascino's and Table 8 and liked them both a lot. The date/bacon/bleu cheese appetizer at table 8 was to die for.

if you go to giottos please report back..... bon appetit

We went to Osteria Giotto and loved it. Just spoke with some neighbors in Maplewood.. they, too, have been and love it.
It's a byo which I always like ..
I look forward to going back.

Thanks, we may try it for my wife's birthday. What about prices? How does it compare with some of the restaurants in Maplewood that we all know and love?

Awesome retaurant. It's our "new" favorite since we discovered it about 8 months ago. It was so good that after we paid our bill for our 1st dinner, we booked reservations for another night before we even left!

My husband and I have been about 6 times. We love the place. Food is inredibly fresh; good portions and good prices (along the lines of Cafe Arugula in terms of pricing- entrees run $11-$24); BYO. We've brought friends from both DC and Manhattan who loved it as well. Run by a husband and wife who really know what they're doing. My only gripe is that you need to call 6 weeks in advance to get Fri or Sat night reservations at a decent hour!
