I know that someone was looking for a place to assemble freezable meals a couple of months ago.... There is one on Route 10 in East Hanover near Home Depot / Dicks Sporting Goods. http://www.supersupperseasthanover.com/ They advertize an average entrée price of less than $3.00 per serving. 6 entrées cost $139.00 (or $135 depending on where you look on their website) - so you must get about 8 servings each to bring it under $3.00/serving. I'm wondering how much food they consider a serving?

Has anyone tried this yet? We were interested but realized that our freezer is too full. Where could we store that much food? But we are SOOOO intrigued. Can anyone tell us about it? |

I saw this too, and was very intrigued. My issue is that there doesn't seem to be a whole lot on the menu for folks who would prefer not to eat meat, and I see no mention of vegetarian substitutions. Alley, it seems you can either to 6 or 12 family size meals, so you wouldn't have to shove a lot in the freezer. If this were worthwhile, I'd find a way to get it all in! |

I'm also tempted by this. Does anyone want to give it a shot? |

The Wall Street Journal did a survey of these places a few days ago and recommended Simply Cook It in Mt. Olive as well as some places elsewhere in the country. I haven't tried it, but it's a middle ground between reheatable stuff from the market and doing your own food prep. Glad I have a basement freezer. |

There seem to be days when you can go in as a "walk in" customer and create fewer than the 6 or 12 choices. You can also split the 6 portions into two 3 portion sizes for smaller families and more meal.

So no one's done it and noone knows if it's actually tasty food. Meand, I'm in a similar situation, I'm vegetarian, but TS eats meat. So it definitely is an issue for me too. |
