Has anyone been to The Harrison restaurant on Greenwich & Harrison Streets in NYC? We're thinking of having my mom's 70th birthday dinner there & just wondered if it was any good. Thanks. |

This may be too late, but yes I've been there - its quite good. They have a really great wine cellar in the basement where some friends had a private party for NYE...awesome. |

I had some really good food there once. There is a Wall Street attitude/vibe as it is owned and frequented by street denizens. Enjoy and happy B-Day to your Mom.... Be well, all. David PS Let us know what you do/did and review. |

I don't know about the Harrison restaurant - but here's another place you might like to consider: the L'Ecole - the French culinary institute restaurant on Broadway (near Canal St). It's where chefs are trained to cook in the French manner - and the standard is very high. Although I haven't been there yet, my friend - who is a real foodie - took her mother there to celebrate her 93rd birthday...it was elegant without being over-stuffy and I was told that the food was sublime. Here is the address and some reviews: http://brooklyn.citysearch.com/review/7113258 Also the prix-fixe menus seem to be highly recommended. |

It is pretty good. It is a wall street crowd... I think one of the owners is a investment banker and citigroup is right accross the street. |
