Has anyone been there? It's that little restaurant in the really odd location on the bend of Essex Street - sort of before you pass the Police Station/Wachovia Bank. It always seems busy, but I've never heard anything about it. |

We ate there a few times. It was nice. A bit noisy when crowded. The food is definitely Southern Italian, which isn't my preference, but it was good. The owners were friendly and made us feel welcome when we were there. |

I agree it's noisy. It seems to attract larger groups of people who bring their own wine and get loud. It's very friendly and the food tries to be special. I enjoy going there on off nights when it's not so noisy because it's so friendly, but the food isn't all that different than you find in other ambitious Italian restos. |

Eat there all the time, the foods good , try the lamb shank. Table up by the fireplace is nice , the staff is very friendly. Their veal scalopine is as good as anybodies. |

I agree with much of the previous posts...and I agree, the lamb shank is excellent. We had a gathering for about 30 people there last spring on a Sunday afternoon. They serve an impressive amount of food for the money. The service is excellent. The waitstaff is well trained. Because it is a BYO that makes it more affordable than other places with the same quality of good food.
