I spotted a place called Saigon (?) in the strip mall just past Daffys going west on rt. 10. I didn't have time to stop and check it out more closely. Has anyone tried it? |

Checked it out a few weeks ago. Only had a basic pho dish which was good. Springrolls were tasty but slightly different than the ones I'm used to... they use a different kind of skin/wrap but it was still good. Given that I don't know of any other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, it's definitely worth me going back since it was pretty good. |

Just tried it yesterday. The food was good but the service was a bit slow. Apparently they had a big take out order, so that slowed things down a bit. We had the spring rolls, the basic pho, lemongrass chicken and lemon chicken. As Projects Dude mentioned, the springrolls had a different wrap but was still good. The pho dish was also good, but was not served with the bean sprouts. My kids loved the lemon chicken. Hubby had the lemongrass chicken and it was good, but not great. The kids had ice cream for dessert, and I had the tri-color dessert. It took such a long time for these to come out. We will go back, and hopefully, service will be faster. |

I just recently tried this a couple weeks ago. We liked the rolls, but there wasn't much flavor in the soup. I had ordered a soup without the tripe and tendon, and I got that anyway, which sort of disgusted me. There were lots of Vietnamese people there, so I guess for those who are searching for really authentic rather than Americanized Vietnamese, it might be a good choice. |

I recently moved from an area where there was a large Vietnamese population and I have been looking for good Vietnamese food since. I went to that restaurant on Rt. 10 probably the second weekend it opened. I thought it was bad. The pho was flavorful, but way too salty. We also tried the lemongrass chicken, a fish dish as well as the spring and summer rolls, but none were impressive either. The cost of the food was expensive for the quantity/quality and the service was terrible. I will not be going back. |

i'm vietnamese and have tried saigon house once since it opened. it is pretty good/authentic considering there are not very many alternatives in this area. i feel that it is better than little saigon in montclair, which has gone downhill since it opened. i used to go there to get my vn food fix but no longer, esp when saigon house has opened. in summary, saigon house may not be that great if you are very familiar with vn food, but it is better than the others around this area. |
