I admit that I went into mourning when I heard that Jocylene's had changed ownership. I know others have posted here before about how much they enjoy Lorena's and that the food was possibly even better than Jocelyn's. But, since Jocylene's was hands down our favorite place around here, we never went, for fear of being dissappointed.

We caved and went last night with friends. It was absolutely to die for. I had sea scallops, two others had prime filet mignon & one had the salmom. All were amazing. We had warm beet salad, butternut squash soup and salmon w/ caviar for our appetizers. We also split an order of truffle risotto.

Desert - warm chocolate cake w/ homemade ice cream, caramel crepes.

I cannot rave enough about the food and service. Once again, my fave place lives in the same space.

My husband and I ate at Lorena's on Saturday. Loved it! I never had the pleasure of eating at Jocelyn's, so I can't compare the two. But the two times we have eaten at Lorena's the meals (and service) were wonderful.

hurrah for both places, but I still like Terra's more relaxed atmosphere just a wee bit more.

As we had/have a great relationship with the previous owner (Mitchell/Jocelyn's - now at Highlawn Pavillion), I was hesitant to think that a new owner could possibly live up to Jocelyn's great reputation - in any short period of time anyway. Well, we have the opportunity to also do business with Umberto (new owner) and he is absolutely - amazing!! It is no surprise to see how he hasn't skipped a beat and has already "razzle dazzled" the likes of the Star Ledger and the NY Times!! We got to eat there in December for a special occassion. I had the lamb chops and I haven't stopped thinking about them (really and this is from someone who knows - lobster tails!). They were exquisit!! Both Umberto's and Lorena's hearts and souls are in the business and it shows!! If you've got a special occassion coming up - and you can get a reservation - definitely give it a try!! Wow!!
