swimmer - have not been to the one in Union, but go quite frequently with my in-laws (who are Turkish) to Patterson. There's a restaurant called Toros that is really good; it's on Main St. Also if you go a couple of streets parallel with Main is the street where all the Turkish markets, pastry shops and pide salons are. Enjoy!

Swimmer, where exactly is this place? There is an all you can eat buffet across from the Shoprite, but I didn't see any other restaurants. Thanks.

I drove by there this morning, and couldn't see anything that looked like a Turkish restaurant. Can you get more specific directions?

There is a restaurant called Beyti in Union City that has dancing on Saturday nights and the food was good. (keep in mind this was about a year ago, don't know now).

Beyti Kebab is the best! We used to live in Weehawken and ate there often (or got takeout from them).

Spend MANY a happy evening at Beyti Kebab. Some people I know had their wedding party there -- disc ball, belly dancer and all!

We had a Turkish au pair with us for a few years, and she really likes Lalezar in Montclair, on Bloomfield Ave. Be sure to get the really excellent rice pudding for dessert.
