I was so happy when I first received that card in the mail for Peapod- Grocery service to my door - avoiding the unpleasant mess that is Shoprite There were some problems.. prices were a little high, selection was limited, and a 6 to 8 slot meant 5:45, but that was fine What really annoys me are two things.. past dated food and out of stock items. Every week, I get items that are past dated - often by 2 to 3 days. They take it right off the bill and they apologize profusely, but come on.. I shouldn't be a destination for the food you can't sell in your stores. As for the out of stock items, every week we order 4 salads, hoping to get 2.. This week, we got 1.. Salad is a staple of our diet and 1 isnt going to do it.. they are supposed to substitute, but that doesn't seem to happen. Does anyone else have Peapod problems or is it just me?

Very few problems, and I'm happy to put up with whatever little issues there are in return for not having to set foot in a grocery store. |

I have had expired items several times, but from A&P. I used to run in if I needed just a couple of things, Baby Formula, cold medicine etc. I can't count the times I have purchased things that were expired. When I purchased formula for my son several years ago, it was over one year expired, they refused to give me my money back because I didn't have a receipt. |

Peapod is definitely not perfect, but it generally saves us a lot of time that we don't have to waste in the supermarket. We now occasionally make a quick run for a few things that Peapod didn't have or we forgot to order |

We have had very few issues. Two broken eggs this weekend for instance. Like others, we make a seperate run at least once a week for fresh produce and fish. |

We do Peapod every 6-8 weeks and stock up on things. I try to hit specials. Produce & meat we get weekly. I only get produce from Peapod when it is on special. |

Yes, I've had problems with outdated stuff and it's really annoying! However, with three kids under three, I can't really get to Pathmark or A&P w/o it being a huge hassle. I agree with you about the salad thing. Also, I ordered two shredded mozz and they "substituted" with two mexican cheeses. As if I can use Mexican cheese for the same dishes I'd use mozz cheese for! If you can get to the store, then do it. Pathmark has way better prices! |
