If you want something big The National and The Blue Dory are great Inns. You can google Block Island Summer Rentals, and many houses will come up.

Great Restaurants...for beach food Ballards is good. BI IMO is more about the beer and the music. But if you go over to Rhode Island there are many many restaurants.

I second the National. I stayed there when I was on vacation on Block Island.

I went in October, however, and most fun places were closed, so I can't recommend many.

However, I do recommend renting bikes or mopeds and riding around the island. There is a really cool lighthouse, and it's just very pretty and New England-y in general. Lots of history, too. I loved it, and I am sure it's even better in-season.

The 1661 Inn and Hotel Manissees. Check out their website. Amazing. Generally high end and expensive but worth it. Good deals in the off season. The dining room at Hotel Manissees is highly rated. BI gets VERY crowded in Summer - May, early June and September are best. not about beer and music then - about chilling.
