Went to Khun (Thai in Short Hills) last night. Food was fine. Wait staff attentive and the room is very nice and atmospheric, effective lighting, Buddhas in abundance but I have two complaints having nothing to do with the food (which was acceptable). First, they seated us upstairs which I liked . But then they left the back door out to the fire escape open. Eveyone up there seemed to know they would do this because they all wore jackets durting the meal. Mine was in the car. Second, the music stunk. Why in an ethnic restaurant like that would they not play traditional Thai music to enhance the experience? Instead, we got the very worst of American Power Pop at distractable volumes.
